Referencing the layered accumulation of Sheehan’s source material, the majority of these works are structured horizontally. Mountain turf, granite, and shale which have been applied to the surface, serving as a substructure upon which an animated interaction between colour, form, and content unfolds.
The work generally explores the transposed view of a particular landscape — the focus directed towards the inherent processes involved in the landscape’s formation and the evolutionary and transformational qualities slumbering therein; just out of sight and just beyond comprehension.
